Infinity Jars Review
I received three different sizes of Infinity Jars – the 50 ml glass screw top jar, the 250 ml glass on glass apothecary jar and the 250 ml glass screw top jar.
The small 50 ml jar is the perfect size for storing seasoning mixes like this taco seasoning mix.
Taco Seasoning Mix
This taco seasoning mix is so simple to make with spices that you most likely already have on hand. There are no added sugars, extra sodium or artificial additives (obviously) when you make it yourself. It is naturally low carb. I like to have this on hand to season chicken cooked in the slow cooker and it is also great to season ground beef for tacos.
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Combine these seasonings in a bowl and make adjustments to your own tastes accordingly. Store in an air tight container. I am using my 50 ml glass screw top Infinity Jar. This recipe fits nicely in this size jar. While this jar is perfect size for this taco seasoning recipe, these are also recommended for all-natural homemade lotions, moisturizers, lip balms – essentially, all manner of around the house DIY goods.
These jars are scientifically proven to extend the freshness and potency of these spices for six months or longer! I’m not sure this batch will remain in my spice drawer for that long, but that is pretty amazing!
The 250 ml glass screw top Infinity Jar is also airtight, leak-proof and smell proof. I put it to the test with some chopped fresh chives.
After 4 days, I checked on my chopped chives and they looked as fresh as the day I chopped them up and stored them. There is no onion smell escaping the bottle either. These will go nicely on my shredded Mexican chicken salad this evening. 🙂
If these were dried chives, these Infinity Jars are lab-proven to organically preserve dried goods for as long as 2 years! According to their website, “The secret of its high-performance is in its glass pigmentation. While it looks black on the outside, it’s actually made of ultraviolet glass. Ultraviolet glass blocks all harmful visible light while permitting beneficial UV and infrared rays that actually extend the freshness of goods.”
I’m impressed with these results. It will be nice to have chopped veggies ready for salads knowing they will last all week when stored in an Infinity Jar like this one.
Other Uses for the 250 ml Glass Screw Top Infinity Jar
From Infinityjars.com –
This jar is a staple of our organization in every room of our team’s houses. It’s used for custom tea blends, infusing olive oil, coconut flakes, open bags of nuts, holding bath salt and shower gel infusions, cotton swabs, paperclips, and more. We throw it in our bag for hikes and beach days and take it in our lunch to work. It’s the right jar for most any job.
250 ml Glass-on-Glass Apothecary Jar
The 250 ml Apothecary Infinity Jars are elegant and have the shape of old medicine bottles with glass lids. This lid can also be used as a serving cup! I thought this would be a good jar to store my sugar free dried cranberries. I love these on salads! It’s all the cranberry flavor without any added sugar.
According to their website, “this glass is specially designed to allow wavelengths of UV and infrared light in. These unique wavelengths of light use high energy gentle cleansing to prevent dried goods and other products from spoiling for 6 months or more.”
Now that I have these amazing Infinity Jars, I plan on growing, drying and storing my own herbs like dill, rosemary and chives.
What would you store in your Infinity Jar(s)?
