James needed a new desk for his room. He wanted something with a lot of surface area to work on and a lot of drawers for storage space. The bigger the desk, the bigger the price tag, I figured. That was not the case with Staples’ Whalen Leadenhall Desk. We bought it at Staples.com and had it delivered to our local Staples. Grant picked it up and brought it home for assembly. (They would have shipped it straight to our house for free. We did not want to do that to the UPS guy – not with our terrible driveway!)
The desk is 60″ long, has two big file drawers on the left and a cabinet for a hard drive (or whatever!) on the right. The wood finish is medium cherry, engineered wood, with a black laminate top. There is also a very large center pencil/supply drawer and another small top drawer on the left.
The cost was only $200 – what a deal! One thing to keep in mind, this desk requires assembly and came in about 100 pieces. As a result, the assembly took several hours. Grant did mention that the directions were well written and easy to follow.
Lots of reviewers came to the same conclusion, it’s expensive looking and a lot of desk for the price. James is happy with it and we are happy with it. If you are on a budget, looking for an inexpensive desk, Staples just may have what you are looking for!
