I was watching the Today Show while on the treadmill this morning. Two stories caught my attention in particular carbs linked to Lung Cancer and Skinny Mirrors. A new study has found that eating carbs like white bread, potatoes, popcorn and pretzels may increase the chances of developing lung cancer – even in people that never smoked! How has man screwed up the potato?
Well, I guess I picked a good time to switch over to low carb eating. I am no scientist, and don’t know the particulars of this study, but it’s just another reason to avoid white, processed foods. Potatoes though? That I don’t get.
Here is the clip from the Today Show.
What do you think of this latest finding?
I am currently reading Atkins for a New You. This is the new and improved Atkins Diet. This teaches about how to eat wholesome foods that will turn our bodies into fat burning machines. This story about skinny mirrors is upsetting. These mirrors are now being used in clothing stores to make overweight people like me look 5-10 lbs. lighter. This is deceiving. Now that I think about it, I did buy more clothes at Khol’s thinking that I looked a bit thinner.Once at home, the clothes don’t look nearly as flattering.
The next time you go to try on clothes if the clothes are making you look lean and mean, you could be looking into a skinny mirror. So how do you tell? Look in the lower right-hand corner of the mirror for some very fine print that reads – “skinny.” I am going to check for this the next time I am in Khol’s!
You have to see the couple who are behind the skinny mirror. The husband interrupts the interview and leaves the room with his wife to coach her as to what to say. He later gets belligerent and swears at Jeff Rossen. What a jack#s&!
Here’s that clip from the Today Show.
Some folks want these mirrors in their homes. I don’t get it. What do you think of the Skinny Mirror?
