The technical name of drones is “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles” (
and they can be very very small, like the Axis Nano Drone for Beginners.
If you are just starting out with “RC” (remote control) and you want to learn the basics of drone flying, then this Nano Drone is the way to go. With its protective ring on the outside, it will be a rare occasion if you have to replace the propellers. Speaking of extra propellers, the drone comes with an extra set of four propellers just in case something does happen to the existing propellers.
The drone and the controller are very small, which makes it convenient to bring over to a friend’s house. Even though the controller is small, it is easy to work with, making for smooth flights. It comes with a USB charger and is ready to fly in 20 minutes. I flew mine for about five minutes straight before needing to recharge.
These beginner drones are available in black, white, blue, green and orange.
One word of caution – if you have long lose hairs (like from my mom) in the air, they can get caught in a propeller and make it sluggish and uneven compared to the other three propellers. You will need to take the propeller off (which is rather difficult and takes a lot of power). Otherwise, no complaints – I am having lots of fun with it!
