Now that the warmer weather is finally here, sleeping can start to get a bit uncomfortable, especially if the bedroom is unusually hot or you are wearing too many bedclothes, you may sweat during sleep. This has happened to me. I’ve woken up on occasion just too hot with hair damp from sweat, because I wore warm pjs and overheated during the night. I’ve also experienced night sweats that are associated with menopause. Although I haven’t officially gone through it, the occasional night sweat that occurs monthly is most likely a sign of things to come.
I’m not sure why I never thought to try a cooling pillow pad before. It would seem that I would be a perfect candidate to try out the Polar Gel Pillow, since I’ve had the occasional issue with night sweating.
Polar Gel Pillow Review
This gel pillow is a extra large size – 12″ x 22″. It fits my pillow nicely. It isn’t too thick and bulky. This comes with 2 no slip straps, which are 1″ wide elastic. These do a great job keeping the pillow in place. I don’t usually toss and turn and move around a lot either, so that may help.
So how does it feel? I love it. I am not sure how this gel maintains a cool feel, but it does. It’s refreshing, yet never to cold for me. When I put my head down on the pillow, I relish the cool feel of the pad. It’s such a nice addition to my pillow. You can put this in the refrigerator for an even cooler feel, but I haven’t felt the need to do that. The description of the pillow indicates that this “regulates body temperature, leading to a deeper, more restful sleep.” Well, I am not sure if it can actually do that, but I must say, I have been using this for over a week and I am sleeping through the night (like a baby.) My youngest son Ryan used it one night, and I grabbed it back from his pillow while he was at school – mine. My Polar Gel Pillow. 🙂
The Polar Gel Pillow is available on Amazon.com for $35.15.
