I love the sounds of summer – the gentle hum of the lawnmower, the melodic chirping of the birds, the sizzling of the grill and I can’t forget the ZAP of those mosquitoes in the bug zapper! The house where I grew up was located in a wooded area that was full of May flies and mosquitoes. My father always had a bug zapper hanging from our deck. So, yes, (as morbid as it is) it is one of my sounds of summer. I was happy to have the opportunity to review Pest Sentry Indoor Bug Zapper to get rid of some biting bugs and to hear the zap, pop of the bug zapper.
This bug zapper comes with a removable, washable tray and a small brush to remove any insects that are still caught inside the grid. While this is an “indoor” bug zapper, we tend to use this more outside. We set this up for Ryan at dusk. He said it killed the little black flies and mosquitoes. He did not get bitten once and it worked great. Here he is whittling by bug light.
This bug zapper is lightweight and portable too. Over the weekend, we went to a birthday party and brought the bug zapper with us. We hung it from the canopy by the chain. It worked well. We could hear the occasional zap of mosquitoes.
We tried it in our garage also. It doesn’t necessarily attracted them indoors, during the day. The light/heat appears to work better at night. Otherwise, based on our experience it works well. We will continue to use it outdoors, perhaps bring it camping with us (if we make it this year) and enjoy some bug-free evenings and its zapping summer sounds. 🙂
The Pest Sentry Indoor Bug Zapper is available on Amazon.com for $59.87.
