This will be my second Surpahs product that I’ve had a chance to review. I reviewed the Surpah’s digital food scale and love it. It’s the only food scale that I use and I use it often. This Surpah’s scale is a whole body scale. I will try to put my feelings aside about seeing my current weight on this new scale and give you an unbiased review. 😉
Surpahs Digital Sense-ON Multifunction Digital Bathroom Scale Review
Like the food scale, the design of this scale is modern. It is thin and sleek. It it just over .5″ thick! It would be easy to store if you wanted it put it away for any reason.
This scale can store up to 8 users within the memory. Setting up the scale is very easy. I didn’t have to consult the directions to do it. I set it with my age, gender and height. I am the first user, so my number 1 always comes up upon touching the scale. This scale has what is called Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology, meaning it measures Body Fat, Hydration levels (Body Water), Muscle and Bone mass within seconds.
Based on my height, weight, gender and age, the scale makes these additional calculations. One thing I discovered, after having trouble getting the scale to calculate these additional measurements, is that you have to have bare feet in order for the sensors in the scale to work properly. Also, wiping the scale with a damp cloth and leaving the scale damp or having damp feet, helps the scale to operate. This is in the troubleshooting section of the directions.
Here is Ryan using the scale. For weight-only operation, the scale was able to record his weight with socks on. Otherwise, I didn’t put his data in yet for the other measures. I did notice that per the instructions this scale is NOT intended for use by children under 18. Not sure why that is…Maybe kids will jump on it and destroy the sensors? Oh well, we are going to take that chance and use this scale – even those of us under 18.
I like the design and functionality of this scale. Beyond my weight and body mass index, I’m not too concerned with the other measurements, but for those who love collecting that type of data, like my husband Grant, this is a plus!

BIA Technology and Accurancy
With the latest 4 G-Sensors it provides high precision body weight measurement. It is enabled by the latest Bio Impedance Analysis (BIA) technology with 4-electrode measurement to estimate the percentage of body fat, body water, and muscle & bone mass. BIA is considered reasonably accurate for measuring groups, or for tracking body composition in an individual over a period of time, but is not considered sufficiently accurate for recording of single measurements of individuals. In recent years technological improvements have made BIA a more reliable and therefore more acceptable way of measuring body composition under most conditions, as the BIA is based on body water balance, your state of hydration can impact the level of accuracy. Overall the BIA provides an inexpensive, reliable way to estimate and track body fat level.
