I recently noticed on the news that gas prices are on the rise again – just in time for 4th of July holiday travel and summer road trips. Isn’t it funny how that works? Well, there is something we can do to save some money at the pumps.
Sunoco Launches GasCardsCompare.com
To help families to stay on budget even while on vacation, consumer budgeting guru Mary Hunt (founder of Debt-Proof Living) is directing consumers to the just-launched GasCardsCompare.com. This comparison website, created by Sunoco, is designed to help consumers learn more about how gas rewards credit cards can help them to save money on a necessary expense during the busy summer driving season: gas to keep their cars moving.
*Family Road Trip Survival Guide* Free eBook by Mary Hunt
To celebrate the launch of GasCardsCompare.com, Sunoco—whose Sunoco Rewards card offers an automatic, at-the-pump, 5 cents per gallon discount every time users fill up—has teamed up with Mary to create a free eBook available for download here. The eBook offers quick and easy tips for enjoying an inexpensive family road trip this summer.
Sunoco Gets Consumer Feedback
Sunoco created the website after commissioning an online survey conducted on its behalf by Harris Poll in December 2013 to better understand consumer views on credit card rewards.
The poll found that:
- 80 percent of consumers say that making a rewards credit card simple to use is one of the most important features they want in a credit card
- 76 percent of consumers want to receive an immediate discount, rather than having to wait until their monthly statement to earn a discount/rebate
- More than half of consumers would rather try to balance the Federal budget than read their credit card’s “fine print”
The Sunoco Rewards Card
The Sunoco Rewards card is built accordingly. It offers consumers a competitive 5 cents per gallon savings, with no minimum-spending requirement to realize those savings, and no maximum-savings ceiling, either. There also is no “limited-time-only” fine print. Rewards customers enjoy the added benefit of seeing their rollback, right there at the pump.
“Consumers shouldn’t take on a credit card unless they have the ability, and the commitment, to try to pay it off each and every month,” Hunt said. “But for such consumers, a gas credit card can make a lot of sense. And this wonderful new tool will help you to find the right one for you.”
Visit GasCardsCompare.com to learn more about the terms and conditions for gas rewards cards nationwide. Also, visit DebtProofLiving.com to download the free eBook Family Road Trip Survival Guide—another resource for travelers looking to enjoy a fun, summer vacation on a budget.
