I am always on a quest for easy, low calorie meals that fill me up. I want to “stay fuller longer.” This Egg and Cheese Breakfast Wrap hits the spot! If I eat a cold breakfast cereal, I can expect to be hungry within an hour. I need more protein and…….I am going to say the F word here, Fat.
That’s right, somewhere along the way, I cut way back on fat and am now realizing that fat is not my real enemy, it’s too much sugar.
I love this egg and cheese wrap that I came up with because it has a beautiful calorie breakdown that seems to work for me, keeping me fuller longer! Here is the calorie breakdown thanks to My Fitness Pal – 29% carbs, 35% fat and 36% protein. My numbers might be a little off, but I do think Dr. Sears was onto something with the Zone Diet.
Anyway, I am not a nutritionist, but according to Dr. Lynda Enwright, who is, ” Omega-3 fats are anti-inflammatory protecting your heart as well as preventing inflammation in other areas of your body and even slowing the processes of aging.” (I’m all for slowing the processes of aging too!). Stayed tuned for a guest post article from Dr. Enwright next week!
So where am I getting the Omega 3s in this wrap?
The eggs! We have free-range chickens and studies indicate there are higher amounts of Omega 3s in these eggs! Don’t worry, you don’t need free-range chickens to enjoy Omega 3 enriched eggs! Check your local grocery store – they should have them.
I wanted something quick and easy and didn’t include any veggies, but doctor up this breakfast wrap with your favorites if you like!
