I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for OxiClean. I received three product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
As winter drags on here in New England, its hard to be even thinking about spring cleaning, but I am. This spring I am focused on windows and walls. We are tiling our entryway and I would like to get the door, windows and walls cleaned up and ready for some paint.
Speaking of cleaning, with two very active boys just keeping the house clean, the clothes and dishes stain-free and everything smelling fresh is quite a challenge – never mind the deep spring cleaning. With products like the Oxiclean line my job just got a bit easier (and I explain how below). I received the OxiClean Laundry Detergent, White Revive Laundry Stain Remover and 4x Etreme Power Crystals for this review.
OxiClean Laundry Detergent Review
OxiClean Laundry Detergent has three powerful-stain fighters and a very pleasant clean, fresh scent. The stain-fighters can lift away complex stains like grass, oil, grease and red wine. The OxiClean Laundry Detergent is available in liquid form and in detergent paks.
I’ve been using OxiClean detergent for a couple weeks now in my front loading washer. This is safe for use in High Efficiency Washers. I really like the fresh, linen-like scent of my clothes after washing and the fact that this is a thick detergent, not thin and runny like some. I put the stain fighters to the test with my winter jacket, which has make-up stains around the collar where the coat tends to touch my face. I pretreated these areas with OxiClean detergent right on the stain.
I threw the jacket in the washer and when the cycle completed, I check the area and the stains were gone! The jacket smelled nice and fresh too. Then I popped it in the dryer. Here are the before and after photos. The make-up stains were removed.
I was thrilled that the OxiClean helped me to remove that embarrassing stain from my coat. I’ve pretreated a couple of my tops and my boys sweatshirts with Oxiclean and the various food, oil and dirt stains are disappearing. I’m happy with these results as it helps to make our clothes last longer.
OxiClean White Revive Laundry Stain Remover Review
The OxiClean White Revive Laundry Stain Remover will produce bleach-like whitening without the damaging effects of chlorine. This detergent removes the toughest stains and keeps whites looking newer longer. It works with your detergent as directed to revive dingy white and maintain brilliant whites without chlorine, harsh fumes or yellowing color damage.
This product is perfect for us because we have iron in our water and I can’t use straight bleach to whiten clothes because the iron and bleach combination makes my whites look dingy with orange, rust-like stains. (This is with a filtration system too.)
Here is the before photo of our dingy white socks with OxiClean White Revive.
To use, I just add 1/4 cup of the Oxiclean White Stain Remover directly to my washer’s interior and I use it with the Oxiclean Laundry detergent as well.
Thankfully, this does appear to have the whitening power of bleach without the damaging effects that bleach can have especially with our irony water. I don’t often wear white shirts, because I run the risk of ruining them in the wash with our irony water problem. But now with Memorial Day around the corner, maybe I can think about it wearing them again. Hopefully, that will be the continued trend with my whites when I use this Oxiclean product. On another note, this leaves my washer smelling fresh and clean too – a nice plus!
OxiClean 4X Extreme Power Crystals Review
The OxiClean 4X Extreme Power Crystals are a dishwasher detergent that has the power to break up food on dishes and leave dishwashers smelling fresh. The power crystals dissolve films and spots on glasses and dishware. This OxiClean detergent can lift away tough stains like tomato stains on plastics and lipstick on cups. The OxiClean 4x Extreme Power Crystals are available in Fresh Clean and Lemon Clean scents and in a convenient bottle or time-saving paks for a quick, mess-free clean.
I just fill up the main wash cup half-way with the detergent and set the dish washer for a regular cycle. The dishes do come out very clean. Here are some before and after shots. I sure do like to cram dishes into my dishwasher, so that makes a detergent’s job even tougher! The OxiClean was able to remove the caked-on tomato sauce on that grab-it-bowl on the top shelf, in addition to cleaning everything else, including my glasses and glass dishes – no streaks or residue on those. So, no tips or tricks required – just try the OxiClean on your dishes and you should see the same results. 🙂
