Wordless Wednesday You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out Kid! #WW

redryder

Okay, so this will be my last Christmas related post – I promise!

We love A Christmas Story and watch it every year as a family. Who knew stores actually still sell the Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun? We found it at the Tractor Supply Store, bought it and put it under the tree for James. As a result of the long distinct box, he had a good idea of what it was….

Why does Ryan have a bar of soap in his mouth? In case you are not familiar with the movie, Ralphie swears in front of this Dad and his Mom made him sit in solitude with a bar of soap in his mouth. Ryan must have been curious to try this, because when I mentioned taking a picture of the Red Ryder, he was at the ready with his bar of Zest.

It turns out they really like the Red Ryder and had fun shooting at some cans in our yard.

Hilarious! It’s one of my favorite movies of all time and that is so awesome. I bet my nine year old would have LOVED to get one, but I think I will hold off for a few years before I get him one lol.

Glad no one shot their eye out! My four year old love guns already not that he has any like this. He just loves to pretend, like pretend jelly guns (he got it from Despicable Me).

One of my favorite movies! Remember the pink bunny suit? One of my church friends got one from her aunt this year. I have a picture of her wearing it. She’s grown, married, and 6 months pregnant. It’s hysterical! Hugs to you in New England! Keep warm! Teresa from NanaHood.com

What a funny picture! My girls love that movie as well, but I don’t think they would reenact the soap scene! But they made us watch it when my oldest got her BB gun for Christmas last year. Thank you for sharing!

We love that movie. If we had a backyard, I think I would get my daughter the BB gun. In NYC, I dont think its a good idea to have.

I adore that movie too! The soap makes me giggle because my brother got that treatment a lot as a kid and I was curious so I tried it on myself. Not good!

That must have been tough for your son….it’s funny, they could both take it or leave it. Right now they are playing in the foot and a half of snow that we got last night. Yeah, I can’t believe Ryan voluntarily put that soap in his mouth. Crazy! Glad it worked for you! :)

The big boys here (grown) are shooting targets this week too. It’s ten below zero today, so my guess is they’ll be staying in. ;)

Omg I had no idea they still made the Red Ryder BB gun. I had one when I was growing up and loved it. I was somewhat of a tomboy but still loved my baby dolls. So glad to know the Red Ryder is still made.
