Rubbermaid LunchBlox Kids Flat Kit Giveaway and Review 9/4 US/Canada #Sponsored

I received the Rubbermaid LunchBlox™ Kids Flat Kit for the purpose of this review and giveaway. I was not compensated for this review and opinions expressed are my own.

Rubbermaid LunchBlox™ Kids are modular containers that snap together to stay organized in kids’ lunch bags. The containers snap to a Blue Ice™ tray to keep foods cool and containers neatly organized. They are also perfectly portioned for kids’ favorite lunch foods, so packing and carrying a variety of foods is easy! I received the blue, green and orange kit for review and one Moms Own Words reader will win their own Rubbermaid LunchBlox™ Kids Flat Kit.

LunchBlox Kids Flat Kit Review

My first thought is that is lunch box kit is very eco-friendly. I admit, I use plastic bags for snacks and sandwiches. With this kit, I could eliminate those bags, save some money and reduce environmental waste.

The kit contains a blue ice base and three containers for sandwiches and snacks. The containers are sized for kids lunch foods. Once these are filled they easily snap onto the frozen base to keep lunches chilled without refrigeration.

I just popped the Blue-ice into the freezer the night before. In the morning it was frozen solid and ready to use.

lunch3 The foods that I would typically offer for a lunch on the healthy side fit perfectly into the containers. These easily snapped onto the blue-ice base.

lunch4I was able to find a lunch kit with an insulated liner, water bottle and easy carry handle. The Rubbermaid LunchBlox Kids Flat Kit fits perfectly inside of this kit.

I haven’t actually given my son a lunch for school (which starts 9/2) using the Rubbermaid kit so I can not tell you if his lunch was perfectly chilled four hours after he left the house. However, I am confident that using these items together should prove very effective. The true test will be if he enjoys his cheese sticks. He hates how they get warm and rubbery after hours in his room temp. lunch bag.

By the way, Rubbermaid does sell LunchBlox Lunch Bags too. I didn’t realize that until I went on their site for this review.

One drawback that I see is with the kit is that you can’t fit a 4 oz. yogurt or pudding container any compartment (too tall)  however, you could always scoop it out into the small container or just plop it into the lunch bag.

The containers in this kit are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe which is very convenient – being dishwasher safe is most important to me. Ryan seems to like his new LunchBlox Kids Flat Kit, now if I could just get him to pack his own lunch!
