While most kids really like to watch TV shows and movies, Ryan really loves watching TV shows and movies. A movie party suited him just fine.
We celebrated Ryan’s ninth birthday on Saturday with his friends at the Gardner Cinema. The Gardner Cinemas offers a birthday party package that includes unlimited popcorn, and soda, in addition to one frosty slushie per attendee. They also offer the use of their birthday party room before or after the movie for 1 hour. They charge $12 per person for this. It’s pretty inexpensive, and a great way to add some fun to a kid’s party that doesn’t involve me cleaning my house from top to bottom and entertaining six kids! 🙂
We saw Despicable Me 2. We never did make it to that screening. But that’s okay. Glad some other families got to go! I just loved this movie. I found myself laughing out loud at those silly minions – especially when they turned “bad”.
Did you see Steve Carrell dressed up as Gru on Ellen? That was a riot! Here’s a short clip of that.
Here’s the cake. Can you see the theme here? I thought this came out great! I just printed a picture, gave it to the folks in the bakery at Stop and Shop and this is what they were able to do!
I had no idea but I bought those trick candles that can’t be burnt out! (I should have read the package.) We had to help Ryan blow out his candles!
Ryan decorated his own goodie bags with scratch and sniff stickers. He even filled them with some of his own things like Star Wars Fighter Pods. For the rest of the goodies, I ordered from Oriental Trader. They had some of those fans (We were on day 7 of a heat wave!) some blow up penguins and candy necklaces. The kids loved their little goodies.
Did you see Despicable Me 2 yet? What did you think?
