I posted this recipe way back when in 2009. Year after year this continues to be a family favorite of our summer BBQs and cook outs. This calls for canned baked beans that are doctored up with yummy things like onions, bacon and brown sugar. These baked beans will taste like you’ve slow cooked them all day from scratch.
Easy Baked Beans Recipe
- 2 pounds (16 oz.) canned baked beans (I use B&M original style)
- 4 Slices bacon
- 2 Tablespoon bacon grease
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon French’s Classic Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Teaspoon French’s Classic Yellow Mustard
Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Place the baked beans in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish and set aside.
Place the bacon in a stack and chop it into 1/2″ size pieces.
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the bacon and saute’ until crisp. Remove the bacon to a plate.
There should be approximately 2 Tablespoons of grease left in the pan. Place the onion in the pan (right in that bacon grease!) and saute’ until tender, stirring occasionally, about 3 – 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from heat. Add the onion, bacon, light brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and French’s Yellow Mustard to the beans and stir until combined.
Baked covered at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 more minutes until bubbly.
