Wordless Wednesday Karate Demo #WW

On Saturday, we went to the annual Bunny Breakfast and Children’s Festival for my son’s school (K-5). At the Children’s Festival, Mello’s Martial Arts Institute held a Karate demo. We were all very impressed! They are a husband and wife team: certified Shotokan Black Belt Instructors with over 40 years of combined martial arts experience. They are offering 2 months of unlimited classes for $99 and that includes a free uniform and patch. We are thinking of signing them up.

How about you? Have you or your kids ever taken Karate?

That must have been really cool. At my son’s karate school, they award the black belts every six months because it’s a long testing process, so they put on a big demo twice a year like that when the black belts get their belt. It’s fun to see all the students at different levels show their stuff.

Karate or any martial arts is very good for a child to learn. It helps with coordination and they learn how to do so many martial arts moves. My nephew was in judo, and he competed and was very good. It helped him meet people, and to this day he has friends that he met through judo!

I’ve always had a soft spot for martial arts, they can do amazing things. Not sure if we will go into that here but my husb is pushing for it. Will see.

    Have a great day!

I signed up my daughter for karate a few months ago but it was not a good fit. We’ll stick to dance classes :-)

How fun! I wish my boys would like it. We tried with my oldest, his inability to stay still did not go over well with the teacher who politely told us not to come back (insert face palm)
