Wordless Wednesday Snow Tubing at Granite Gorge Keene, NH #WW

One of the highlights of the last week was taking the boys  snow tubing at Granite Gorge in Keene, NH. They had their February vacation last week and NH is having their vacation this week – so we figured that we would have the place to ourselves, and we did, for a while.

It was actually my sister-in-law Gisele’s idea to come here. She is far more daring that I am. Here they are just raring to go!

Gisele told the guy who gives you a push to whip her around before sending her off. Here she is having the time of her life! And then there she was at the bottom falling over, because she was so dizzy. Wish I caught a picture of that! :)

Spin? No thanks. I made sure to beg the guy to please Do.Not.Spin.Me. He replied with, “Ok, so, spin you as fast as possible?” “NOOOOOOOOOO!” I half screamed and giggled. It turns out, it was a lot of fun. I actually went down a few times. The scariest part was at the bottom. I was afraid I was going to run into someone!

Check this out. The snowboarders hop up on that pipe and slide down. At least that’s what I was told. I didn’t actually get to see any snowboarders attempt it.

As I mentioned, we had the place to ourselves for a short time and then the bus loads came. Can you see James waiting in line?

The boys tried going down two at a time. They almost lost each other near the top.

What a fun day. A great way to end the week! We would definitely head back to Granite Gorge for more snow tubing fun.

Have you ever tried it?

Tubing is so fun! It’s nice to see that you have stairs to get back up. We don’t have them here and it’s a real pia to get back to the top!

What I’ve discovered is that sledding is so much more fun when you a kid and unafraid :)
I’m not sure if I’ll ever sled again. At least on a big hill!

Wow! You are really having fun tubing down this hill! Looks like a lot of fun. I am like you, I do not want to be spinned while going down the hill! Glad to see your exciting picks today!

I totally would have preferred to have the place to myself. I am not patient at all. Wonderful pics though.

That looks like lots of fun. It reminds me of snow tubing in a local park when I was younger. The hills I went down don’t look nearly as scary as the ones seen here in these photos though. I would be begging not to be spinned either. And wow that’s a huge crowd, but at least there’s a wood railings to support you as you head back up.

I love tubing but haven’t been in such a long time! I really can’t stand the cold, but next winter I’m going to make it a goal to get out more!

Hi, Found you on one of my Wordless Wednesdays tripping around sites checking out bloggers images. ( usually done on Thursday or the weekend.) Yours looked like the one having so much fun and especially as it is so hot and muggy here today even the cold snow looked inviting.
