I wanted to try ThinSticks after seeing a couple of  JJVirgin videos on You Tube. (See her video below.) She is health professional who raves about them. She calls them her “secret weapon for weight loss”. She recommends adding them to a meal replacement shake as a weight loss aide.

When I contacted Metabolic Maintenance regarding ThinSticks, they were kind enough to send along some ThinSticks for me to try and share with you in a giveaway.

At my first attempt, I added a ThinStick to a smoothie and I made a terrible mistake. I didn’t mix the ThinStick with my liquid first, and for that reason the powder didn’t mix up in the blender. While they say they are tasteless, that was not the case. It had an unpleasant taste. The first lesson is to mix the ThinStick into the liquid or food (like yogurt) WELL.

I had much better results after a second attempt. I added the ThinStick to a glass of water flavored with a sugar-free orange flavoring. I mixed it well and the drink took on a creamier consistency, but the taste was not too bad. It was kind of like an orange creamsicle flavor. After drinking this concoction, I did notice a feeling of fullness.



I like this product because it is made with natural ingredients and is stimulant free. I’ve tried other products that contained stimulants that made me feel agitated and I discontinued use immediately. This had no side effects for me other than a feeling of fullness.

I’ve only used this product three times now. I don’t have any weight loss to report. But I can say it helps a bit with appetite control. I am slowly getting back on my Weight Watchers plan and I will continue to use the ThinSticks with my afternoon drink and see if I get some results!

Be advised these are expensive! A container of 30 is $53.80. It is recommended that you use two per day. At that cost, I will only use one a day in the afternoon, when cravings tend to hit.

    I definitely belive that most of it is diet. Planning ahead is the best weapon. When you are hungry and dont know waht to eat you are more likely to make bad choices

    smaller plates = being forced to have smaller portions. Leave extra food on the counter, if its brought to the table you will feel the need to have more when in fact you may already be full

    Buy two one-liter bottles (reusable, or water bottles); print off a monthly calendar and put two check boxes on every day and commit to drinking two liters of water a day and checking off the boxes on a daily basis. At first it’ll seem like a chore, but I think people need to SEE their progress in order to feel like they’re accomplishing something, and they will be able to stay on track by keeping themselves accountable. Place it on the fridge so you can see your progress.

    When it comes to exercise do something you like to do, if you force yourself to do something that isn’t enjoyable than you will be less likely to stick with it. I use my elliptical time to catch up on the week before prime time shows while working out and this makes it less painful for me.

    i take greek yogurt and put it in an ice cream machine. its low calories, very healthy and it tastes just like ice-cream. Plus its a lot of fun to customize it by mixing different flavors.

    I always keep track of what I eat and calories burned by using fitbit. If I fail to report or ‘sneak’ a snack without reporting it, I’m only hurting myself. That’s a hard lesson to learn, but once learned, it’s hard to forget.
