BJ’s Babycakes Deluxe Waffle Stick Maker Review
The Babycakes waffle stick maker includes a measuring cup and a fork tool. The non-stick cooking plates allow you to make 10 waffle sticks. The non-stick surface allows for easy clean-up.
I followed one of the easy recipes that is included in the instructional manual. I just used a pancake mix that I had on hand and added 2 eggs and 1 cup of milk to make a quick batter.
The unit heats up in less than five minutes. Despite the non-stick surface, I sprayed the unit with non-stick cooking spray anyway. I scooped the batter using the handy measuring cup that comes with the unit. I was careful not to overfill, because the batter will overflow. I was just about out of batter when I took this picture. This recipe yielded about 28 waffle sticks.
The waffle sticks cooked in about 5 to 6 minutes. They are easy to remove with the fork tool or just with your fingers.
I thought these came out very good, considering I used a pancake mix that I had on hand. They cooked up golden brown and had a nice crispy outside. I think a true waffle mix would be that much better, but Grant and the kids loved this first attempt. My kids love dunkable waffles anyway. I like that I can freeze the few that were left over for quick breakfasts during the week.
I plan to experiment with different waffle mixes and get a lot of use out of this. If you have any suggestions let me know! This waffle stick maker is available at BJ’s wholesale club for a great price.
