Contessa World Cuisine frozen skillet meals for two Giveaway 2 Winners 12/10

Contessa World Cuisine offers frozen meals made with wholesome, quality ingredients. With 18 unique, world cuisine-inspired flavors, there is a healthy option to please everyone. Each meal can be prepared in just 10 minutes at home. I received Contessa World Cuisine Sesame Chicken for review and two Moms Own Words readers will win 5 free product coupons to try any of the 18 flavors of Contessa World Cuisine – plus five $2.00 off coupons to share with friends and family.

This frozen skillet meal was easily prepared in about ten minutes using a skillet on the stove top. Meanwhile, the rice cooked in the microwave in three minutes right in the bag it was packaged in.

As you can see, this skillet meal has a lot of vegetables, which includes broccoli florets, petite green beans, water chestnuts, carrots, and red and yellow bell peppers. The rice in this meal is brown rice – a healthier option than white.

As far as nutritional value is concerned, I was pretty impressed with most of the breakdown of one serving: 380 calories, 6 grams of fat, 5 grams of dietary fiber and 26 grams of protein. Keep in mind,  if you use the (delicious Asian-style sesame sauce) the carbohydrate count is rather high at 56 grams and when calculated for a PointsPlus value this meals has 10 PointsPlus! Shave off three whole points by eliminating the sugary sesame sauce. ( It was well worth the “splurge” – so good with the sweet sesame sauce!) If sodium content is an issue for you, this meal is high in sodium at 1120 mg per serving.

This meal had a nice Asian flavor. I could taste the ginger and soy sauce. I would have liked to see (and eat) a little more chicken, as that was a tasty part of this meal. It’s always nice to have convenient skillet meals with some healthy aspects on hand for busy nights and I would include Contessa’s Sesame Chicken skillet meal in that category.
