  3. Ann F says

My husband is the hardest person to buy for. He never gives me any ideas, and if he wants something, he buys it himself.

  4. says

My husband is the hardest person to buy for – he always wants the big ticket items that we cannot afford so I always have to come up with something that he would still like that fits into our budget.

  5. says

Oh my, My husband is surprisingly my hardest to shop for. If he wants it, he buys it right away so there is never anything that he wants or needs around the holidays. Makes it both fun and surprising but also difficult. I’ve had to return the last two gifts I shopped for him early because he’s already gone out and bought them … men.

  6. says

My Grandpa! He’s turned into a Grump against most of modern day societies items…
if I get the gift wrong, he goes on and on about how & WHY he cannot use it!

  7. Nicole Hartmann says

Absolutely my father! He doesn’t live near us so I really don’t know what he loves/hates/hobbies, etc.. Usually I stick to getting him a few golf shirts (since he lives in California) but.. I always wonder if he even likes them! It is hard to shop for someone you rarely see!

  8. ohkeeka says

My brothers are definitely the hardest to shop for–I usually just end up getting them gift cards because I don’t know what they want and they don’t give me an clues! And my in-laws are tough too.

  9. says

The most difficult person to buy for the Holidays is both my Hubby & My son because were are almost always together! Thank goodness for online stores!

    Thanks~!

    could possibly want or need!

  13. Minta says

Dad is always #1 hardest to shop for. You ask him what he would like and the answer is always the same. “Nothing”.

My Mom was the hardest person to buy for but we lost her in 2006. Now my grand daugher is because she wants expensive gifts like a laptop this yr to do her power point projects for school. Since I am retired I can’t get her one but hope her mom will.

It used to be my dad and FIL… but now that we have a 2 year old, anything “from” or “by” her wins…

So my hubs would be the toughest now! Want it to be fun, nice, and not too crazy…

  17. says

Without a doubt -my mom! She has everything and doesn’t want anything, so I am thinking about a restaurant gift card from now on!

  18. madwoman-doing-cartwheels says

My Dad is the hardest as he has everything he needs or it seems and even if I have my husband take on the task of selecting something for him we seem to always duplicate something he already has.

  19. Patricia says

My son is hard to shop for since he seems to like something one day and then doesnt like it the next day.

  20. Kylie says

My Dad is extremely difficult to find gifts for he’s one of those have nothing, need nothing, want nothing guys. I usually end up doing something extremely random at the last minute- photos, leather working supplies (which he’d never tried before or expressed interest in), hand tools, a straight razor one year….

  21. Carol G says

My younger daughter–her tastes and mine are very different, and she has a tendency to buy anything she wants/needs almost immediately. Delayed gratification is NOT in her vocabulary!

  22. shelly says

My boyfriend is the hardest person to shop for. I got him a bottle of david beckam cologne once and he complained I got him cheap stuff. Which I don’t consider it cheap. My family and kids are just grateful they get something nice so they are easy.

  23. nanjhall says

Definitely my parents. They are older and really don’t need or want anything. I usually end up with some kind of gourmet food or treat since I know they will at least eat it.

  24. Nancy Meyer says

My grandpa, he’s the man who has everything and wants nothing!

  25. Debbie C says

The hardest person on my gift list is my Mom. She doesn’t need anything really, other than some major appliance which I can’t quite swing, unfortunately.

  26. Aisling says

Definitely my husband. I usually end up getting him a book I think he’ll enjoy. Sometimes he does. mcgillrmcgill(at)charter(dot)net

  27. Jessica A says

My dad is the hardest to buy for. He has most everything he wants (and has time for) and we never know what to buy him.

  28. rebecca says

My grown son, I don’t think I have done well by him in a decade or so. Yuck twice. It’s a mom’s job to keep on trying.

  29. Erica C. says

My guy is the hardest person to shop for. During the year, we get what we need, and sometimes he just wants so many things…it’s hard to surprise him.

  30. Salleefur/Jesslyn says

Hands down my 88 year old Mom! She doesn’t like STUFF and hates any kind of clutter – especially a full refrigerator – even a half full refrigerator! Half of what I have are her rejects! And what us kids don’t take goes straight to charity or the thrift shop!

So, maybe a REALLY good book, a Pashima Scarf can work, and since she tends to break them, glass tea pots and drinking glasses…

  31. tallcapp says

The hardest person to shop for on my Christmas list is my son and daughter-in-law. They live a distance away so it is a little hard to keep up with all of their interests.
