Hodgson Mill is holding a Summer Pastabilities Recipe Contest! I have taken this recipe challenge with the goal of creating a healthier lower calorie, lower fat pasta salad recipe. I created an original summer pasta salad using delicious whole wheat pasta provided by Hodgson Mills. Hodgson Mill’s is also offering Moms Own Words readers a whole wheat pasta prize pack (RV $25).
Summer Pastabilities Recipe Contest
Now that my recipe has been submitted, I will go head-to-head with other bloggers as you, my faithful readers, vote for my recipe on my behalf.

Broccoli Slaw Whole Wheat Pasta Salad
Ingredients
- 1 10 oz. box of Hodgson Mills Whole Wheat Bow Tie Pasta cooked per instructions.
- 1 9 oz. bag of Broccoli Slaw
- 1/3 cup chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup Good Season’s Italian Dressing (Prepare the Good Season’s Dressing per the instructions, or, to taste. (I cut the oil in half and doubled the vinegar. I used raspberry vinegar.)
1. Once the the pasta has been cooked, rinse with cool water and drain well.
2. In a large bowl, combine pasta, broccoli slaw, onion and 1/2 cup dressing.
3. Place in refrigerator to chill for at least one hour and serve cold.
