A First Communion and a Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day! Kick back, relax….maybe go get that copy of 50 Shades of Gray. My hairdresser said I must read it. Well, how can I ignore that kind of endorsement? ;)

We are going to brunch at my Mother-in-Law’s house and then I am going to pick out a new smartphone. I am switching teams from Droid to iPhone. Sorry Droid.

The plant pictured here is a “Nobile Orchid Dendrobium”. I am happy to be able to share this picture with you now because under my care, this plant’s days are numbered!

James really went all out to make my morning special. He actually hid and waited for me to come out into the kitchen so he could jump out and surprise me! He left notes for me on the coffee pot and window, pasted handmade flowers all over the windows and wrote some Mother’s Day similies. This one was my favorite -

“Mom you give as much joy to the world as God.” Wow. That’s heavy.

James created this cute, colorful picture for me. I love it – despite the vacuum – ha!

Yesterday was a busy day. We celebrated Ryan’s First Communion. What a beautiful day we had! The weather was picture perfect. The kids were adorable in their communion gowns. Ryan actually did a reading and for someone who “hates to read” he did a great job. He even complained that his reading was too short.

Here is a pose that you don’t see a seven-year-old boy in every day!

James is making a trumpet out of his program and Ryan is up at the church hall tearing off his gown and tie.
And Mom? She’s ready for a glass of wine. Have a great day! :)

Moms, what are you up to today?

Happy Mother’s Day to you! How lovely to see your son’s pics of the First Communion. What a special day it must have been and nice that he got to do the reading. You must have been so proud! Last year my boy took his First Holy Communion. Cheers.

Happy Mother’s Day and congratulations on the first communion! You CAN keep that orchid alive. Do not overwater, provide filtered light and mist the roots gently :) Took me a good 10 years of killing orchids to get it down :)
