The Snow Queen Review
Gerda finds herself on a dangerous quest to free her best friend Kay from the wicked Snow Queen’s frozen palace. She is guided by kind strangers like the raven, the outlaw girl and the wolf. On her journey, she is met with all kinds of obstacles and challenges, but her generous and loving heart turns out to be the best weapon against the evil queen.
We enjoyed this book for it’s interesting tale and beautiful illustrations. What becomes of the Snow Queen and her palace? I don’t want to reveal that, but suffice it to say, Ryan’s favorite part of the book was the ending. This beautiful book would make a nice gift just in time for the young reader on your holiday list!

The Snow Queen Featured at Family Trees, Concord Museum
Every year at this time the Concord Museum in Concord, MA hosts Family Trees – A Celebration of Children’s Literature. Each Family Tree is decorated with themes from children’s literature. This year Barefoot Books was the lead sponsor and The Snow Queen was the first featured tree that my family and I saw on our visit to the museum. This was quite the tree – beautifully decorated by Snow Queen illustrator – Miss Clara.
