Download Free ebooks – Where to Find Free Revised

So many free e-books so little time. In fact, there are so many resources it’s hard to imagine ever leaving your house or paying for a book again. I updated this post with a few more sites to download free e-books.

I was listening to the radio a few months ago and heard a librarian talking about how many of the latest book releases are available as downloadable ebooks at the library.  I am a new Kindle owner and thought , Wow! I wonder if I can download free ebooks at my library?

According to this librarian, it works like reserving a regular book. When available, you download the ebook for about two weeks and then the book will disappear from your ereader and will be ready for download for the next reader in line. Check with your local library for that new release. They may have access to larger libraries of ebooks that can be checked out. For example, go to the Boston Public Library website and search for ebooks.

Other Resources for Free Downloadable Books

This is an awesome resource – I don’t really have anything to add because it’s so comprehensive! I sometimes find links to specific ebooks on money saving blogs.

I have a kindle and I am always looking for the cheaper ebooks. Some new books for kindle are almost the price for the paperback. And if that’s so, I always buy the paperback. It’s so much nicer for my bookshelf. :) (but not for my wallet)

Happily there are nice book review pages, which will tell me, when “my books” are on sale. That’s always helpful. :D
